There’s something about a walk in the forestry at night with a bunch of camera equipment that’s deeply terrifying. Whilst it would be nice to bump up the ISO and set a wide aperture on my eyes, I left them set to auto and allowed them to adjust. The surrounding evergreens grew thicker and blocked out almost all of the light polluted sky. It was dark, I think I had my eyes open. It was quiet, other than the sound of my heartbeat that elevated with the cardiovascular workout that the steep hillside walk was providing. I fumbled in my bag and grabbed a torch, flicked it on. Nothing much more than trees towered over me. I continued my ascent to find a plateau where I rested for a while before setting up my tripod. Read the rest of this entry »
